The Gratitude Farm is the name of our beautiful homestead that sits at the foot of the majestic Monadnock Mountain in Southern New Hampshire.
We bought our farm in August 2019. The minute we stepped onto this land, both Matthew and I knew that we had found something special. It felt strangely familiar, like we had been here before, like this land had been waiting for us.
Little did we know that our charmed lives would be turned upside down with illness, recovery, heartache and loss. Not to mention a pandemic that brought the world to its knees.
But through it all, ALL OF IT, we’d find ourselves looking at each other and saying, ‘we are so lucky to be going through this HERE!’ Through it all, through the breast cancer diagnosis, the double mastectomy, the many other surgeries, through the devastating passing of my beloved mom, through the grief and the loss and the heartache, through the hardships of parenting teenagers through lockdowns and shutdowns and isolation, through it all, we have never wavered from the deep understanding that this land is holding us tight, loving us, in the best possible way — I know your body is in pain but just look at this magnificent mountain. I know your heart is aching but watch these fledglings learn how to fly. I know you are feeling sad but have you ever SEEN so many fireflies? This land whispers love notes to us many times a day.
And, in response, we feel; deep GRATITUDE.
And so my lovelies, welcome to The Gratitude Farm, where we live and love and learn how to homestead, where we walk the land and forage for mushrooms, where we craft and create and curate our life of gratitude.
Thank you for walking this magical journey with us.
We are grateful for your presence here.
